Linkin Park – Leave Out All The Rest

Linkin Park 2 Comments »

LYRICS

I dreamed I was missing
You were so scared
But no one would listen
Cause no one else cared
After my dreaming
I woke with this fear
What am I leaving
When I’m done here

So if you’re asking me
I want you to know

When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I’ve done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed
Don’t resent me
And when you’re feeling empty
Keep me in your memory

Leave out all the rest
Leave out all the rest

Don’t be afraid
I’ve taken my beating
I’ve shared what I made
I’m strong on the surface
Not all the way through
I’ve never been perfect
But neither have you

So if you’re asking me
I want you to know

Forgetting
All the hurt inside
You’ve learned to hide so well

Pretending
Someone else can come and save me from myself
I can’t be who you are

SONG MEANING / OPINION

I think everyone can relate to this song, the moment they reach at the end of their life or when they want to start their new life to be someone better.

The song starts with the writer dreamed he was gone. No one else cared other than one person. I have no idea about that one person, it could be someone close or best friend. After the dreaming, he woke up with the same feeling and thinking there’s nothing he could leave for the people to remember him after he’s gone. So, the writer writes that he wants people to remember him for the person that he is rather than things that he have done or not done.

The chorus means, about being remembered after all the things that have been done and happened. Other than that, it could mean forgiving oneself and moving on with the rest of life.

The second verse continues as he confess of things he have done. He have paid for those things that he have caused and have taken responsibility for those things. He admit he is not perfect and others too, are not perfect as well and everyone have done mistakes.

This song taught me, all the hurts that we have, we should not ignore it, instead we should learn from it and keep moving on with life. We should not hope for something or someone would come and save us from our self or our circumstances, we should save our self. The last line reminds us that not everyone can be expected to be the same with the rest of people.

We’re explorers in space, just like when we go on tour. We’re leaving our home life behind, and I guess it kind of ties into ‘Leave Out All the Rest’, in that we have to leave things behind in order to do something better. – Joe Hahn

Max Payne

I thought this movie is about angels. Well, it’s not about angels. It’s more into detective and mystery. There was shootings but not much (although I heard the game was about shooting) and not much actions either. However, the visual effects are cool. Most probably that’s the reason that made this movie look interesting.

I haven’t played the game before. Not everyone that likes the game likes the movie as well. I read the plot of the game and found it’s almost the same with storyline of the movie, there are differences but not much. There are sequel to the game called Max Payne 2 (The Fall of May Payne). Maybe they will attempt to make sequel for the movie, no confirmation about that one.

I was detective story fan when I was young. I used to read comics and novels about detective and mystery. So, I’m quite glad that I went for this movie because it’s kind of bringing me to things I liked those days.

Rating: 5/10

The Devil is building his army. Max Payne is looking for something that God wants to stay hidden. That is what makes him more dangerous. – Lincoln DeNeuf

Eagle Eye

I saw the trailer, I wasn’t interested in this movie. Then I came across an article on the newspaper mentioning it’s good movie to watch. I checked out other reviews online and it’s quite convincing to go for it.

The movie turns out to be good and I shouldn’t have judged it based on the trailer. There are plenty of action scenes, however, some of them reminded me of Die Hard 4. Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan was great, with some humours. The best thing about this movie, it’s fast and exciting from start to end making it non stop entertaining.

Steven Spielberg brought his imagination into the future of high developed technology. It’s the time when technology can control the world by tracking every moves of human beings.

In US, it’s released in September. However, I felt like watching summer movie.

Jerry: The only things I can think of that have timers are microwaves and…
Rachel: Bombs? You were gonna say bombs!
Jerry: Coffee machines have timers…
Rachel: Yes, Jerry, it’s a coffee machine.
