I'm not into Pixar (or animation) movies. It's my first experience with them in cinema. The only reason I went to watch was because it received higher rating than most summer movies. Good to my surprise, it's truly wonderful movie to watch.

The movie starts with good introduction. It taught me about appreciation. According to the director, Peter Docter: Basically, the message of the film is that the real adventure of life is the relationship we have with other people and it's so easy to lose sight of the things we have and the people that are around us until they're gone. More often than not I do not really realize how lucky I was to have known someone until they're either moved or passed away. So if you can kind of wake up a little bit and go, "Wow, I've got some really cool stuff around me every day," then that's what the movie's about.

Back to the movie review, the movie has amazing adventure. As it goes, it gets better. The comedies are hilarious. An elder and child, both are funny, makes the movie fun to watch. The voices and music are excellent and the most beautiful element are the visuals.

This movie is the most heart touching animation movie I have ever seen. It contains both happiness and sadness. If anyone watch this movie in cinema and does not feel such thing, I will wonder if they have heart or not, LOL. It's not only for young age, this movie is for adults too and they will appreciate it more than child would do.

Everything's okay except talking dogs, they can even fly planes! I hate movies with talking animals, though my favorite childhood cartoon was Disney's "The Lion King." Those talking dogs took away realism from the movie. Good thing the movie was too fun to think too much about reality and fantasy.

There are plenty of lessons to learn from this movie. I got four!:

  1. Only detachment from materials and letting go the past can bring happiness.
  2. Everything change, it's how we react to it that matters.
  3. For every loss, there will be something to gain and for every gain, there will be something to loss. Just have to look hard enough.
  4. Time spent with loved ones, no matter how it was spent, those are the most valuable memories in life.

Rating: 10/10

Thanks for the adventure. Now go have one of your own. – Ellie

P.S. I wish I had beautiful childhood dream. If you have, go chase after it. =)

Public Enemies

Although it's set in 1933, it's quite good and better than other movies which are "based on book with 1930's setting." This movie ran for more than 2 hours, I felt sleepy yet I was awake. Mainly because of the cinematography. The movie was shot in high-definition (HD).

The reason I went for this movie is to see the combination of Johnny Depp and Christian Bale. Christian Bale did not make any Batman voice, so that's good. Both of them did great, everyone knows Johnny Depp can take on any role for his talent. He got some great lines throughout the movie.

I heard this movie is based on true story and the book is non fiction. However, this movie is not accurate enough with the real story and personality. That's the most said complain from those that gave bad ratings. Well, either it's true or not, I do not want to watch history in cinema, I want entertainment and this movie has it.

Everything is 1930 in this movie, it takes the audience back to 1930's Chicago. It's good enough to look real. There are songs in this movie, sounds like music of 1930's. It might fit well but I do not like it much.

Another special element in this movie, it has wonderful love story. It's very deep and true. I'm quite impressed on that part. John does his best to keep his love to remain forever.

The actions are great, there are plenty of gun shoots unlike from other movies from the same kind. The sounds are awesome. This movie contains strong violence and the cinema really strict with the rating of this movie. It seems they seriously will not allow under 18 for this movie because of the content.

Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen

Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen

I had the chance to watch the advance screening. The movie started with too much humors, especially from Sam's mother. Some stuff are quite annoying. I hate the introduction part. I even barely enjoyed the last half of the movie.

Although it's huge blockbuster, due of the story line, it's not worth the wait. It has too much unnecessary elements and material. I expected an exciting story line.

The story line does not make sense and there are too much flaws. Basically, good movie should receive around one year to complete the script. However, I heard this movie script took around one month to complete. The writers then was paid USD 8 million. I believe there are people can write better story and can negotiate for half price.

The visual effects look real and there are plenty of robots involved. To have plenty of robots battling together, I do not think it's good idea. According to the visual effect supervisor, Scott Farrar, "After one hard night of rendering computer-generated footage, some of the hardware actually exploded." Oh well, even the computer could not take it any longer. LOL.

Micheal Bay made into Guinness Book of World Records for biggest explosion on film with the actors present. He put the young actors life in danger to shot mindless explosions. Something to be given award for? Whose life was in danger? Luckily Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox able to save their own life. LOL.

Mikaela Banes (cast by Megan Fox) seriously hot in this movie. I have not seen Megan Fox that much hot, with so much make up. Mikaela Banes actually an improved version of Megan Fox, by using CGI. Thanks to the CGI crews who worked on this movie. They did the works well and perfect, until Michael Bay satisfied with them.

The good news, there will be "Transformers 3." Another news I'm not sure good or not - Michael Bay will make it again. I respect for the work he accomplished with the 1st Transformers live action movie but with the sequel, he spoiled it. Shia LaBeouf said next sequel going to be darker than the previous two. Either darker or not, I only want good action movie that I can recommend to every Transformers fan, of any age.

Mikaela Banes: How you know it will work?
Sam Witwicky: Because I believe.

Terminator Salvation

Terminator Salvation

I love this movie. It's better than the third film. This one, being the fourth film, has the best effects and higher budget. Still "Terminator 2" remain to be the best action movie ever made. This movie has new and stronger machines. The missing part was, they are not good enough to give you the same feeling you had when you watched "Terminator 2. "

Every "Terminator" fan waited for this movie, to see the future battle between human and machine. In this sequel, Christian Bale portrayed John Connor perfectly. He's really dedicated to it, yet his Batman voice acts are quite annoying. Marcus Wright, portrayed by Sam Worthington, was the coolest character. He deserves the most notable performance. Another young character Kyle Reese, portrayed by Anton Yelchin, he's more than you can imagine he is. He got the spirit of Kyle Reese, which can be seen in The Terminator.

I went to watch this movie with less expectation because of the reviews on the Internet. The movie was released about one week earlier in certain countries. After watching, I realized most of the reviews are wrong. This movie is extremely awesome. Most of the reviewers compare it with "Terminator 2." I do agree, "Terminator 2" is brilliant work, but this movie is no longer the old "Terminator." It's new "Terminator" trilogy. Most of the elements are changed, maybe to bring freshness into the new trilogy. Anyway, I would say the film crews made it. It's just, they changed the original theme music, I still prefer the old one. =)

Another defect in this movie, there's no Arnold Schwarzenegger casting anymore. So, there goes another element missing, LOL. It's the future, John Connor must protect himself and others, especially Kyle Reese. Thanks to Computer Generated Imagery (CGI). They were able to bring T800 into the movie. It had the exact look of Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The movie sets in futuristic world, lots of special effects are involved yet not so realistic. The explosions are marvelous and so does the action sequences. I'm glad they made this movie, "Terminator" is my favourite franchise. "Terminator Salvation" was worth the wait and money. I would still enjoy it for second time. The ending was excellent and the movie was satisfying, though most of the scenes are fast paced.

Rating: 9/10

Everyone deserves second chance. This is mine. - Marcus Wright
